One time use only, connects the lower cap to the rest of the connecting rod

When rebuilding or performing a rod bearing service on any S85 or S65 engine it is required to replace each connecting rod bolt as they are torque to yield fasteners. These bolts have a very specific torque sequence which must be followed:

Wash all new bolts in oil before installing:

Step 1
Jointing torque - 6 Nm
Setting torque - 20 Nm
Angle of rotation - 130 °
Release connecting rod bolts

Step 2
Jointing torque - 6 Nm
Setting torque - 20 Nm
Angle of rotation - 130 °
Release connecting rod bolts

Step 3
Jointing torque - 6 Nm
Setting torque - 20 Nm
Angle of rotation - 130 °
