Description
This hose supplies high-pressure oil (upwards of 80 BAR) to the distribution hose at the top of the engine which is what allows the VANOS to change the position of the camshafts. This hose is located inside the timing cover of the engine and is a known point of failure of the VANOS system in which it can leak pressure back into the engine causing VANOS faults. Failure of this hose can be confused with high-pressure oil pump failure.
