Referred to by BMW as a pressure converter, a common source of boosting issues
This solenoid is inline with the vacuum tanks and allows for constant boost pressure. Some indications that this solenoid is faulty is boost loss and odd noise from the solenoid.
Two per car, can be replaced individually as needed.
