Made in Germany, OEM VDO - not aftermarket. N54 and N55 engines are prone to water pump failure - replace every 60,000 miles.

Late-model external water pumps have the advantage of being generally more reliable, while also being easier to service, not requiring a gasket or o-ring. Replacing high mileage units during cooling system services provides peace of mind.

Replacement of the three aluminum retaining bolts is also required as they are one-time-use: 11510392553.
